Study Area

Camp W.G. Williams is located 26 miles south of Salt Lake City on the west slope of the Traverse Mountains. As an integral part of the region, located south of Bluffdale and Herriman, west of Lehi, and north of Saratoga Springs and Eagle Mountain, the installation is transected by the Salt Lake and Utah County boundary. The installation is a critical asset in the defense of the United States (U.S.), hosting winter, desert, mountain, and amphibious training exercises often used by Army, Army Reserve, Marine Corps, and Air Force Units as well as the FBI, law enforcement agencies , and other state agencies. Situated on 28,000 acres with a billeting capacity of 2,800 troops, it is comprised of small arms weapons firing ranges, artillery firing points and manuever areas, and a private airfield.
