Public engagement for the JLUS Implementation project was critical to the program's success.
The JLUS Implementation project program included a robust and comprehensive public participation component, consisting of a variety of means and methods working together throughout the project duration to maximize engagement. These elements included the following:
A Project Task Force comprised of senior staff and elected/appointed officials from the participating communities and other stakeholder groups in the region. Task members acted as liasons to their respective communities.
This Web Page, which will not only contained comprehensive information, updated throughout the project, but allowed comments to be provided via the "contact us" tab.
Community Meetings held at critical points in the process for the consultants to present information and receive public input and guidance.
Direct Mailings (post cards) sent at select times to specific interests groups and property owners, to further enhance awareness of project events and other details.
